Key Largo

Key Largo is the northernmost key of the Florida Keys archipelago and the first stop along the famed Overseas Highway.  Key Largo is most famous for its world-class scuba and snorkeling on its many miles of reefs and wrecks.  John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park boasts the only living coral reef in the Continental United States and visitors from around the world come to experience the breathtaking beauty of this Technicolor wonderland.  Dive shops and charters are always ready to take visitors on an exploration of Key Largo’s underwater paradise.  The many mostly man-made beaches along the reefs are a perfect place to enjoy world-class snorkeling.  If you prefer to view Key Largo’s stunning reefs from above the water, try a glass bottom boat tour.

John Pennekamp State Park is not only home to the first underwater park in the U.S., but it also is home to a colorful 30,000 gallon aquarium tank that is worth the trip to Key Largo alone!
